Last seen … exploring genius

bali terraced rice fields elevated viewLove her or hate her, everyone has an opinion on Elizabeth Gilbert. Without doubt, at every workshop I run, participants are divided over her best-selling travel memoir Eat Pray Love. Some switch off at her soul-baring, others are switched on. But just where did she get her inspiration? What was her writing process?

This week, I’m not saying much, but I encourage you to grab a cuppa and take 15 minutes out of your busy lives to watch Elizabeth Gilbert talk about creativity on TED.

She’s funny, honest, insightful and smart. She explores the source of the muse, wonders where genius comes from and reveals just how darn difficult it was writing that book. (And by the end, it’s hard not to be won over!)

As Gilbert says, ‘Don’t be daunted. Just do your job. Continue to show up for your piece of it, whatever that might be.’ Enjoy!
