13 Dec Writing Ally of the Moment
I recently discovered Scrivener, a fantastic writing software and project management tool for any longer piece of work, from a travel memoir to a novel. You can organise your material and collate lots of research easily. Even for a technophobe like me, I found the interface user-friendly.
There’s a virtual cork-board with ‘index cards’ to storyboard your project and easily move files or chapters around. This is great for structuring and revising. It also has a neat device called ‘full screen‘ which fades out your background so you only focus on your current document: ideal for those who get distracted by email, twitter etc. It works on Mac (not Windows) and can be downloaded for a free 30-day trial, or bought for AU$50.
