Literary Travel Writing Sites of the Week —
For those of you tired of reading puff consumer-driven travel articles in newspapers, who crave for more serious travel writing, these two sites are worth exploring. An oldie and a goody is the American worldhum.com, part of the Travel Channel. Although they aren’t accepting submissions right now, the site has interesting, well-written articles that go beyond the ‘ten best things to do in’…
For those who’ve already published a travel book, perceptivetravel.com is a newish online travel magazine specialising in narrative stories. They do pay: US$100 per article. Not much, but the webzine has integrity and clear writer’s guidelines.
